    15th-century civil Gothic gem with its famous Contract Hall.

    History

    Built 1482–1548 by Pere Compte as the merchants' trading hall when Valencia was a leading Mediterranean trading power. UNESCO World Heritage since 1996.

    What to see

    Trading Hall with 24 helical palm-tree columns, the tower, Consulate of the Sea hall and orange-tree courtyard.

    Tips

    Very cheap ticket. Often free on Sunday mornings. Right opposite the Central Market.
